Class Descriptions

Gentle:  a series of basic poses, mostly seated, slow movement. A class that is soft and sweet and ideal for deep stretches. All levels welcome, great for beginners, suitable for those with injuries/physical limitations.

Basics: a series of basic poses, general foundation, standing, seated, & sometimes inverted poses. Usually begins by warming-up the body and leading up to a peak posture, followed by a cool down. All levels welcome, great for beginners, can be modified for those with injuries/physical limitations. 

Yoga & Sound:  a gentle class with basic poses followed by a short restorative section. Experience the sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls, Tibetan Bowls, Gongs, and Body Tuners as you let your body rest in restorative poses. Sound Healing is beneficial for everyone, great for detoxification, and overall balance for the mind and body.  The unique tones and vibrations of the sounds make it difficult for the mind to drift and allow fluids to flow to get your body functioning at its best. All levels are welcome & on of our most popular classes. 

Vinyasa Flow:  a high energy flow class with a series of basic/mixed level poses. Fast paced and rhythmic movement to music.  Ideal for toning muscles, strength building, weight loss, and detoxification. Focused on shorter holds and constant movement. All levels welcome, can be modified for beginners, not ideal for those with injuries. 

Hot Yoga: a heated class (85-90 degrees) followed by a series of basic/intermediate poses linking breath with movement.  Beneficial for detoxification, sweating out toxins, and weight loss.  Not ideal for beginners, (unless heat tolerant). Bring a towel! 

Pre/Post Natal: A women only Yoga class for pregnant women or those looking to get back in shape. Babies are welcome to join mothers.

Mixed Level: Series of beginner poses taken further. Great for those looking to deepen their practice. Almost always includes inversions, backbends, & arm balances. Less explanation of poses, greater detail on alignment. Not ideal for beginners. 

Yoga Nidra: (Deep Yogic Sleep) A guided class based on maintaing awareness while taking your mind and body to a heavy, deep state of relaxation beyond deep sleep.  Yoga Nidra activates the Delta Brain waves, which are the slowest brain waves that are active during our deepest sleeping state (pure silence). Beneficial for changing habits that are deeply engraved in our subconscious mind. Taps into one's innate emotions and heals from a deeper state of mind. Great for all levels. 

Yoga for Prevention of Injuries: A class dedicated to those with physical limitations in which the instructor provides physical adjustments and modifications. This class is great for those working with specific injuries or recovering from an injury. 

Intermediate: a class for those who practice often and are looking to deepen their practice. Precise details and instruction on poses. Includes a series of poses that lead to a peak intermediate pose.  Almost always includes backbends, inversions, or arm balances. Similar to a workshop type of class. 

Guided Meditation:  a 45 minute class with a 10 minute soft Yoga class that includes very few poses leading to a 35 minute long breath-guided meditation.  Guided Meditation can also be based on specific intentions or the Chakras. Meditation can be seated or reclined with the use of props.  

Pranayama: a 45 minute class based on breathing techniques. A stress reduction class, great for all levels. Class is usually seated the entire time. 

Restorative Yoga & Sound:  also called (Yogi Nap Time!) A soft and gentle class that has little to no movement.  Allows you to recline in restorative poses in which you are supported by blocks, blankets, bolsters, and sandbags while listening to the sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls.  Usually consists of 4-5 poses that are held about 15 minutes each.  Another very popular class that is great for all levels.  Restorative Yoga brings balance back into the body by tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system. Ideal for detoxification, digestion, those with injuries, high blood pressure, heart problems, headaches, anxiety, stress, & jet lag. Sound healing therapy provides a great experience for Meditation and for overall health. The vibration of the bowls are felt in the body and help to circulate blood. 

Yoga Philosophy: A class based on traditional Yoga Philosophy and general knowledge about Yoga. A class that is perfect for one on one questions about the practice of Yoga. Great for those who want to learn more about the philosophical teachings.
